Acceptable Use Policy
Rules for responsible use of fonte and its email-broadcasting service.
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to your use of fonte and forms part of the Terms of Service.
fonte is built for legitimate email sending. You may not use the service to send abusive, deceptive, unlawful, or unwanted email, or to circumvent the controls designed to protect recipients, customers, or the service.
Permission and audience quality
You must use audiences that you are authorized to contact and must comply with applicable consent, privacy, marketing, and email laws.
You may not:
- send unsolicited bulk email or spam;
- use email addresses obtained through scraping, harvesting, address guessing, credential leaks, or similar collection methods;
- use purchased, rented, or otherwise acquired lists where you cannot demonstrate that the recipients reasonably expect the messages you are sending;
- continue sending to recipients who have unsubscribed, complained, or otherwise withdrawn permission;
- bypass or interfere with suppression or exclusion controls; or
- misrepresent marketing messages as transactional or operational messages to avoid applicable controls.
You must maintain reasonable audience quality and promptly address excessive bounces, complaints, invalid addresses, or other signs that an audience is unsafe to send to.
Sender identity and message integrity
You may not:
- impersonate another person or organization;
- use a domain, address, or sender identity you are not authorized to use;
- use false or materially misleading sender information, routing information, subject lines, or message content;
- conceal the identity of the person or organization responsible for a message where disclosure is required; or
- interfere with unsubscribe mechanisms or required message disclosures.
Prohibited use
You may not use fonte for:
- phishing, credential theft, account takeover, or impersonation;
- malware, malicious code, or attempts to compromise recipients, systems, or services;
- fraud, scams, deceptive schemes, or materially misleading solicitations;
- unlawful threats, harassment, exploitation, or other unlawful conduct;
- content or activity that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or other legal rights;
- collecting passwords, authentication credentials, payment credentials, or other secrets through deceptive means;
- unauthorized access, probing, scanning, interference, denial of service, or other attempts to disrupt fonte or another system; or
- any use that creates material legal, security, deliverability, reputation, or abuse risk for fonte, its customers, recipients, or service providers.
Circumvention and included-usage abuse
You may not create, control, coordinate, or use accounts, workspaces, domains, identities, organizations, payment methods, or other arrangements to:
- multiply fonte's included email allowance;
- avoid or reduce charges that would otherwise apply;
- evade sending or usage limits;
- bypass review, safety, security, suppression, or capacity controls;
- continue activity that fonte has restricted, suspended, or terminated; or
- otherwise obtain service on terms you would not be entitled to receive through ordinary use.
Creating or rotating accounts or domains for the purpose of repeatedly obtaining additional included usage is prohibited.
fonte may treat accounts, workspaces, domains, or organizations under common ownership, control, or coordinated use as related when determining whether this policy has been violated.
Enforcement
fonte may investigate activity that appears to violate this policy and may request information reasonably necessary to understand your identity, sender identity, audience source, permission, or intended use.
If fonte reasonably believes that your use violates this policy or creates material risk, we may take action including:
- delaying, limiting, or stopping a broadcast;
- restricting an audience, sender, domain, workspace, or account;
- removing or withholding included usage;
- requiring payment or additional verification;
- suspending access; or
- terminating service.
fonte may take action without prior notice when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, fraud, security harm, unlawful activity, damage to sending reputation, or harm to the service or others.
Severe, repeated, intentional, or evasive violations may result in immediate termination and refusal of further service.
Reporting abuse
Suspected abuse of fonte may be reported to abuse@fonte.is.
Do not include passwords, API keys, access tokens, or other secrets in an abuse report.
