Send your first broadcast
Send a note to the people who want to hear from you. Choose your sender and audience, write the email, check a test in your inbox, then send with confidence.
Before you start
You need a domain you own, people who have agreed to hear from you, and something you want to share. Import your audience into Contacts and choose the recipients for this broadcast.
Sending requires a verified domain and review of sending access. Creating an account does not grant unrestricted production sending.
Open Broadcasts in your workspace and choose New broadcast. On an empty list, choose Create broadcast. Give the draft a name so you can find it again. This name is for you; the Subject is what people see in their inbox.
1. Set up your sender
From tells people who is writing. Use a name they recognize and an address on your own domain, such as The Studio Letter and hello@example.com.
- In From, enter the sender name and email address. Use the arrow beside the address to choose a saved sender instead.
- If Verify domain appears, open it. Follow the connection options shown, or add the supplied DNS records at the provider that manages your domain.
- Check verification again after the DNS changes have appeared. Setup confirms when you can send from this address.
You can keep writing while DNS is being checked. A workspace owner or admin manages saved senders. If replies should go to a different inbox, open the sender picker and set Reply to.
2. Choose your recipients
To is the audience for this email. Start with the people already in Contacts, or choose a smaller group for a more personal first send.
- Open To and choose Add contacts to change the audience. In Send to, choose Everyone for your contacts, or Specific contacts to choose a saved audience or other recipients.
- Open To and choose Exclude contacts when you need to leave people out of this broadcast.
- Check the recipient count. Fonte applies subscription and sending protections, so the final eligible audience can be smaller than the people you selected.
Campaign is optional. You can leave No campaign selected for a first broadcast.
If your audience is not in Fonte yet, import it through Contacts. Uploading a CSV directly in To is different: new addresses from that file are used for this broadcast only. Import through Contacts when you want to keep that audience for future emails.
3. Write your email
Write as if you are sending a useful note to one person. A clear subject and a short message are enough to begin.
- Set Subject to the words you want people to see in their inbox. Add Preview text if you want a short introduction beside it.
- Write the message in the editor. Add the links and images your note needs, and check where each link goes.
- Use the viewport controls to check the email on desktop and mobile. Check the plain-text version too.
The editor saves your draft as you work. Wait for the saved status before leaving, and reopen the same draft when you want to continue. Saving the draft does not send an email.
4. Send yourself a test
See the email in an actual inbox before sending it to your audience.
- Choose Send test in the editor.
- In Send to, enter an email address you can check. Choose Send test in the dialog.
- Open the email and check the sender, subject, images, links, and footer. If you edit the draft, send another test to check the changed version.
Only the test addresses receive this email; your audience does not. Under the one-time free-email offer, provider-accepted Test emails use the same account-wide free allowance as eligible Broadcasts, then ordinary Pay as you go usage. They are outside Unlimited coverage and join the ordinary usage balance, without a separate immediate card charge per Test. A successful test does not send or approve the broadcast.
5. Review and send
When the email looks right, open Send to review the saved message, sender, audience selection and current recipient count. After you approve, Fonte saves that approval and prepares the recipients in the background. You can follow progress on the same broadcast.
- Check the sender and saved message in the editor before opening Send.
- Confirm who will receive the email and any exclusions. Resolve any setup or payment item the review asks for.
- Check the reviewed recipients and choose Send now to approve immediate sending. To schedule instead, choose Send later, select the date, time and time zone, then choose Review schedule. Check the schedule and choose Schedule broadcast to approve it.
Payment authorization is required before sending beyond the included allowance.
If you change the message, sender, or audience after reviewing it, review the updated version before sending. Your approval belongs to the broadcast you reviewed.
Follow the result
After the send is confirmed, open the broadcast to follow progress and recipient results. You can return to it later; the broadcast does not depend on keeping the editor open.
Accepted for sending and delivered are different results. An accepted email counts toward usage. Delivery and inbox placement are later outcomes, so check the recipient results as they arrive.
If the send status is unconfirmed, use Check status when it is offered. The request may already be recorded. Keep working with the same broadcast so Fonte can confirm what happened.
Use the workspace to follow broadcast progress and recipient results. Pause and cancel controls apply to work that has not already been sent; they cannot recall email.
Working with an agent
An agent can help you prepare the words and assets. Keep the workspace, sender, message, and audience clear, and review the actual broadcast before approving a send. Connecting an agent does not give it permission to send to your audience.
The connection guide explains which agent interfaces are currently available. This walkthrough uses the dashboard and does not assume a released MCP tool or CLI command.
